On Thursday 6th of October 2016, the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Thailand, celebrated the 25th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia at a formal reception held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, hosted by Honorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian and Mrs. Sirin Artinian.
The formal reception was joined by the Royal Thai Government and Ministerial representatives, Thailand – Armenia Parliamentarians Friendship Group leadership, Diplomatic and Consular representatives, esteemed Ambassadors, charges d’affaires, Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce leadership as well as foreign chambers leaders, Thai Board of Trade leadership representatives, Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association leadership, local and expat media representatives, expat community representatives, the Armenian Community of Thailand and valued family friends of Mr. Arto and Mrs. Sirin Artinian and the Artinian family.
The exuberant evening featured the virtuoso Cadence Music Ensemble especially invited from Armenia, traditional Armenian gastronomy, products and exhibits from Armenia, cultural displays as well as Discover Armenia portrayals depicting the growing tendency for ecotourism, popular cultural venues in Armenia, gastronomic treats of Armenia and winemaking traditions in rural vineyards and city life in Yerevan.
In his speech, Honorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian talked about Armenia’s journey through the past 25 years, the progress and the challenges which Armenia has experienced as well as the accomplishment realized within the past 25 years, overcoming substantial challenges, adding “…nonetheless, an objective assessment of the past 25 years gives all Armenians the encouragement to continue the struggle towards finding sustainable economic growth, peaceful path for resolving regional conflicts as well as to pursue a viable, fair and lasting solution for the Artsakh conflict”. Additionally, “…the reconstruction process has been ongoing for the past 25 years and this is only the beginning for a hard-working nation. The new generation of Armenian youth play a vital role for the new accomplishments, specializing in advanced technologies and IT industries, Armenia is eager to become one of the leading start up nations in the world…” furthermore “…Armenia is a fascinating country with vibrant people and remarkable attractions which deserve your careful consideration…”.
Addressing the business community, Mr. Arto Artinian invited investors to think of Armenia for their next investment destination saying “I believe now is the time, to garner our support with the International business community in our resident countries, to create joint collaborative investment projects which will assist in the improvement of economic and social domains in Armenia… paving the way for sustainable growth in Armenia”. Concludingly the Honorary Consul said “…we are pleased to share with you today, our hospitality, cuisine, prestigious Armenian brandy, culture and wonderful music.”
The speech was ensued by the Royal Anthem of the Kingdom of Thailand and a heartfelt toast and tribute to honor His Majesty the King of Thailand followed by the National Anthem of the Republic of Armenia, followed by the raising of the tributes to honor the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The reception was appreciated by the guests who were delighted to enjoy the congenial Armenian welcome, interesting and informative presentations about Armenia on screen as well the exhibits, in the meantime socializing with peers to the enthralling music of the Cadence Ensemble.
