January 13, 2018

EVENT UPDATE
Armenian Community of Thailand

Bangkok – 13 January, 2018

The Armenian community of Thailand celebrated Armenian Christmas on Saturday, 13th of January 2018, with a Holy Mass conducted by Rev. Deacon Sarkis Tarakjian at Christchurch in Bangkok, followed by a dinner at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Campus Lounge, hosted and organized by the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia.
The Christmas gathering is an annual tradition for the community, for being the first get-together and welcome after the year-end holidays.

In his brief welcoming remarks the Honorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian thanked everyone for their continued support and solidarity and emphasized on the importance of 2018 as a jubilee year for all Armenians, as a series of celebrations will be marked in Armenia and Diaspora, namely the 100th anniversary of the declaration of the first Republic of Armenia in 1918, the 2800th Anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Armenian capital Yerevan and the 30th anniversary of the Artsakh movement.

With particular appreciation to Rev. Deacon Sarkis Tarakjian for his continuous spiritual merits, the community members, joined by the Armenian students of the Regent’s International Schools in Thailand, enjoyed the hospitable gathering in a positive atmosphere and kicked off 2018 with true Armenian well-wishes.
