The Consulate of Armenia in Thailand celebrated the 28th Anniversary of the Armenian Independence.
On Wednesday, 25 September 2019, the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Thailand, celebrated the 28th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia at a formal reception held at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, organized under the patronage of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, H.E. Sergey Manassarian, and hosted by Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Arto Artinian and spouse Mrs. Sirin Artinian.
The event endorsed the social hashtags #VisitArmenia and #InvestArmenia, featuring the InvestArmenia presentation as well as the WCIT2019 landmark IT event planned in Armenia during October 6 to 9, 2019. Additional VisitArmenia presentations showcased the national heritage, culture, scenery, landmarks and music, with a call to all guests to visit and discover Armenia.
The formal reception was attended by Royal Thai Government representatives, Diplomatic representatives, Ambassadors, Consuls, Honorary Consuls, Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce leadership, foreign Chambers of Commerce leaders, Thai business associations’ leaders, media representatives, expat community leaders and the Armenian Community of Thailand.
In his speech, Honorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian emphasized on the invigorated level of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Thailand, the distinguished visits of the Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan to Far East Asia, the prospects of further engaging Armenian – Thai relations, adding ”our focus is to expand cooperation also in the spheres of tourism, cultural cooperation, trade and investments and importantly education, with the framework of exchange students and the introduction of mutual EdTech (education technology), a sector in which Armenia has achieved innovative steps”.
Addressing to the business community in Thailand Mr. Arto Artinian conveyed his welcome; “I would like to extend my invitation to the business community of Thailand to explore the opportunities that Armenia has to offer by promoting various collaborations in compatible sectors not only with Armenia but also as seeing Armenia as the golden route towards the expanded Eurasian Economic Union and the subsequent markets“.
The guests were pleased to enjoy the cultural program, with authentic Armenian melodies performed by the traditional music instruments state artists of Armenia; Anush Kirakosyan on Kanon, Armen Grigoryan on Duduk, Hakob Khalatyan on Kamancha, and Vardan Nazaryan on Dhol. The esteemed guests also devoured the traditional Armenian cuisine, imported ArmAs wine, and Ararat brandy and the Armenian Fine Arts mini-exhibition showcasing the artful and creative expressionism of contemporary artists of Armenia.
