On the 26th of April 2014, the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia organized an Armenian community of Thailand get-together, dinner gathering to mark and respect the 99th Remembrance day and commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, as well as to catch up with Armenian Easter family re-unions and furthermore to get acquainted with the new Armenian community members who have recently moved to Thailand.
Under the support of Honorary Consul of RA, Mr. Arto Artinian a full function room at the Residence 305 room, the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok set the event off to a symbolic minutes’ solemn silence in respect and memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide, followed with prayers from community Deacon Sarkis Tarakjian, who in turn invited Mr. Arto Artinian to pass on to the guest his welcoming message as well as amplify the significance of the day.
More than 60 Armenians living in Thailand were present at the gathering who were all filled with enthusiasm and moral gratification for being together part of this enriching Armenian community event, perhaps putting together the very fabric of a new budding Armenian Asean community in the overspread Armenian diaspora.
